The Mysterious 144,000

Who are the 144,000 in Revelation and what is their purpose?
by Dr. David R. Reagan

There is probably no part of Revelation that has been more abused than the first half of chapter 7 which tells about 144,000 Jews being “sealed” as “bond-servants” of God. The Jehovah’s Witnesses claim that a group of their founders and pioneers constitute this group. Other cults claim they are the 144,000. Most mainline Christian commentators argue that this group is symbolic of the Church.

How 144,000 Jews could be symbolic of the Church is beyond my comprehension. This interpretation is a good example of the fanciful ideas that people seem to delight in pulling out of Revelation. What would God have to do to convince us that He is speaking about 144,000 Jews? He says they are Jews. Specifically, He calls them, “the sons of Israel” (Revelation 7:4). He even enumerates them by their tribes, stating that 12,000 will come from each tribe. Does He need to put a flashing neon sign in the sky that says, “I’m talking about Jews!”?

Why are some Jewish tribes excluded from the 144,000?

This is an intriguing question. The list of tribes is certainly unusual. The original twelve tribes included both Levi and Joseph. But normally, when the twelve tribes are listed in the Bible, Levi – the priestly tribe – is not mentioned because its inheritance was the Lord Himself (Deuteronomy 10:9). And Joseph’s name is usually dropped and then replaced by his two sons, Ephraim and Manasseh who were adopted by Jacob (Genesis 48:8-22). So, Levi and Joseph are usually replaced by Ephraim and Manasseh, keeping the list at twelve.

In the listing in Revelation 7, the tribes of Dan and Ephraim are dropped and replaced by Levi and Joseph to keep the list at twelve. Why? Well, no one knows for sure. My guess is that Dan and Ephraim were dropped because they were the ones that led the children of Israel into idolatry (Deuteronomy 29:18-21 and 1 Kings 12:25ff). It thus appears that the two tribes responsible for luring others into idolatry will not be entrusted with sharing the Gospel with others during the Tribulation.

But God’s grace in this matter is reflected at the end of Revelation when the description of the new Jerusalem is given. Revelation 21:12 says the city will have twelve gates and that each gate will be named after one of “the twelve tribes of the sons of Israel.” In Ezekiel 48:30-34 we are told which tribes will be included in this significant recognition. They are the original twelve, including Levi and Joseph. That means one of the gates will be named for the errant tribe of Dan, and both Manessah and Ephraim will be included under Joseph’s name.

Are the 144,000 of Revelation 7 the same as the 144,000 portrayed in Revelation 14?

I believe they are. Why would the book introduce us to a totally different group of 144,000 people without telling us so?

In his book, Revelation Illustrated and Made Plain, Tim LaHaye argues that the 144,000 in Revelation 14 are a group of Gentile Christians who have been converted during the Tribulation and who have served the Lord with distinction before experiencing martyrdom. He admits that this is interpretation puts him “in the minority among commentators.”

The scene in Revelation 14 portrays 144,000 men standing on Mt. Zion with Jesus. LaHaye contends that since this scene takes place in the middle of the Tribulation, and since Jesus would not be standing on Mt. Zion in Jerusalem at that time, the reference to Mt. Zion must be a symbolic reference to Heaven. So, he concludes that these are Gentiles who have died for their faith and who are now in Heaven with Jesus.

I don’t think so. The first point I would make is that this scene is not in the middle of the Tribulation. All of chapter 14 is a flash forward to the end of the Tribulation, giving the reader a preview of what lies ahead, assuring him that Jesus will ultimately triumph. The second point I would make is that the group is not in Heaven. They are on Mt. Zion in Jerusalem where Jesus has returned to reign as King of kings. He has preserved them through the Tribulation, and He is celebrating His victory with them. They are singing a song heard from Heaven, a song which only they can sing (Revelation 14:2-3). Again, if this were a different 144,000 from the 144,000 Jews mentioned in Revelation 7, I think the text would tell us so.

What is the Purpose of the 144,000?

What is the role of these 144,000 Jews during the Tribulation? What is their purpose? All the text says is that they will be “bond-servants of God” (Revelation 7:3).

But the context indicates that they will serve the Lord as evangelists. I say this because their description is followed immediately by the description of “a great multitude which no one can count, from every nation and all tribes and peoples and tongues” (Revelation 7:9). John sees this great host of people in Heaven standing before the throne of God, and he asks “Who are they, and from where have they come?” (Revelation 7:13). He is told that they are people who have come out of the Great Tribulation who “have washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb” (Revelation 7:14).

In other words, this multitude of Gentiles are those who accept Jesus after the Rapture and who are martyred for their faith during the Tribulation.

Because they are placed adjacent to the 144,000 believing Jews, the implication is that they are converted by the Jews during the Tribulation.

I once called Zola Levitt and asked his opinion on this matter. Zola is a Messianic Jew who has a Bible prophecy ministry. When I asked if he believed that the 144,000 Jews of Revelation 7 would serve as evangelists trying to convert the world to Jesus, he said, “Of course! Why do you think the Lord has given us the kind of personality that we have?”

I wasn’t about to touch that question with a ten foot pole, so I played dumb. “What are you talking about?” I asked.

“Haven’t you ever noticed,” asked Zola, “that Jews are very pushy people?”

“Well yes,” I responded, “now that you mention it, I must say that I have.”

“Well,” said Zola, “God has given us that kind of personality so that we can be the world’s greatest salesmen. And one day, during the Tribulation, 144,000 believing Jews are going to use those skills to convert a great host of Gentiles to Jesus. We are going to push people up against the wall and hold them by the throat until they say, ‘Jesus!’ Before the Tribulation is over, we are going to convert more people to Jesus than you Gentiles have done in the past 2,000 years.”

All I could say was, “I hope you are right.”

Christians United For Israel 3 Million Members Becomes Powerful Voice For Israel

BY SEAN SAVAGE/JNS.ORG

While much of the media focused on the recent terror attack in Nice, the failed coup in Turkey, and the Republican National Convention, thousands of evangelical Christians gathered in the nation’s capital this week to show their support for Israel as part of the 11th annual Christians United for Israel (CUFI) Washington Summit.
.
Although world events may have overshadowed its latest gathering, CUFI’s base of support is louder than ever. CUFI has become not only the self-described largest pro-Israel organization in America, but also likely the largest evangelical Christian organization of its kind. As such, the group will likely play a significant role in shaping the future of American support for Israel.
.
“Christians United for Israel in 11 short years has gone from 400 people in San Antonio, to 3,500 in our first gathering in Washington, DC, five months later…to 10,000, to 100,000, to 500,000, to 1 million in 2012, to 2 million in 2015. Tonight we celebrate an active Zionist membership of 3.1 million people,” Pastor John Hagee, CUFI’s founder and national chairman, declared in his remarks at the Washington conference as part of its “Night to Honor Israel” celebration.
.
CUFI defines “members” as email-list subscribers whose addresses do not produce bounce-backs when messaged.
.
“I am often asked by members of the press, how did this [growth to 3.1 million CUFI members] happen? I say that it is the Lord that has done this. The king of the universe, the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, let his name be glorified, he has done this,” said Hagee.
.
CUFI’s Christian-Zionist following has steadily grown despite the past decade’s erosion of support for Israel in other spheres of influence. The movement has also tapped into a desire by many Christians to seek out a connection to their roots amid various global threats and uncertainties.
.
“It is not possible to say that I am a Christian and not love the Jewish people,” Hagee said.
.
David Brog, who was one of the founders of CUFI and now serves as director of its executive board, explained that CUFI has become the successor group to previous evangelical Christian movements in the 1980s and ’90s.
.
“If you look back at evangelical politics in America, it was really the Moral Majority [political organization] in the 1980s that brought evangelicals back into American politics in a real way. At the time, [Moral Majority founder] Jerry Falwell wrote that there were four founding issues in the Moral Majority: a strong American defense, family, pro-traditional values, and strong support for Israel and the Jewish people,” Brog said.
.
According to Brog, many at the time did not realize that support for Israel was one of the core values of the Moral Majority. Instead, people tended to focus more on the social issues, and that is how the Moral Majority is now remembered.
.
“In the 1990s, the Moral Majority gave way to Pat Robertson’s Christian Coalition,” said Brog. “It was [founded at] the same time, it was a pro-Israel group, but we tended to associate them with social issues because that’s what was hot back was then.”
.
But the 9/11 attacks changed all of that, Brog explained, turning Israel into “one of the top issues for evangelicals.”
.
“All of a sudden this distant land of Israel, battling these Islamic enemies, many realized that we are also facing the same threats and enemies,” he said.
.
CUFI was founded in 2006, five years after 9/11, and has seemingly come along in the right place at the right time to fill the gap left by previous evangelical organizations.
..
Throughout the country, CUFI works with dozens of evangelical pastors who hold CUFI-sponsored events and advocate on behalf of Israel within their communities. This grassroots effort is at the heart of CUFI and may explain why the organization has become such a powerful, yet understated, force in American politics.
.
Pastor Scott Thomas of the Free Life Chapel in Lakeland, Fla., told JNS.org that CUFI “helps churches and congregation members to embrace and understand the message of what Israel is, and reintroducing them to the Bible again.”
.
“The Bible did not originate in the church. It originated outside of it, it is a Jewish document. Understanding that has given us context. That educational context has triggered a passion for Israel and the Jewish people, and CUFI has been that vehicle. It has been a natural on-ramp,” Thomas said.
.
Pastor Tim Burt, who serves as associate pastor at the Living Word Christian Center in Brooklyn Park, Minn., added that CUFI has become a place for fractured pro-Israel organizations to come together in a powerful way.
.
“There’s always been lovers of Israel, there’s always been many organizations that supported Israel,” Burt said. “But sometimes it is a God moment in time, where Pastor Hagee came along with his leadership, coupled with David Brog, and created this platform at the right time….It allowed for all these lovers of Israel to come together, it was a recipe for success.”
.
In his address to the CUFI summit via satellite, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said, “CUFI is an amazing organization. In 10 years you’ve gathered more than 3 million members and have become active on more than 300 college campuses. CUFI never shies away from standing with Israel and standing with the truth.”
.
Beyond being a platform for traditional evangelical Christians, CUFI has also made a concerted effort to tap into diversity in America.
.
“We’ve seen growth throughout the multi-ethnic body of Christianity–the African-American community, the Asian community, the Hispanic community–and we have even hired a Native American outreach coordinator,” Pastor Dumisani Washington, CUFI’s diversity outreach director, told JNS.org.
.
Washington explained that the diversity among CUFI’s supporters reflects the diversity of Israel.
.
“This is in parallel with Israel, where you see people from all over the world, both Jews and non-Jews,” he said. “The church is the same way–people from all ethnic backgrounds, particularly here in the United States, and we have seen growth.”
.
“If you see the people here [at the CUFI summit],” added Washington, “you see people from every ethnic background, and that’s one reason why we think [CUFI] has grown so much, because people are coming from all different sectors of the church.”

Rumblings Of Ezekiel 38? Turkey-Russia Pact Threatens New Order In Middle East

BY CON COUGHLIN/GATESTONE INSTITUTE

The deepening diplomatic pact between Turkey and Russia represents yet another damning indictment of the Obama Administration’s ability to maintain relations with Washington’s traditional allies in the Middle East.
.

Western diplomats regard the decision by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan to restore relations with Moscow last month as part of a carefully-coordinated attempt by Ankara to build a new power base in the region.
.
For decades Turkey, a key NATO member, has said that it wants to forge closer ties with the West, to the extent that Turkish diplomats insist that Ankara is still serious about joining the European Union.
.
But the increasingly hard-line Islamist approach taken by Mr Erdogan in the wake of the failed military coup, which has seen tens of thousands of judges, academics and journalists forced from their jobs, has caused the Turkish government to realise the prospects of maintaining relations with its Western allies are remote so long as it continues with the current crack-down.
.
This had led Mr Erdogan to embark on a campaign to reach out to countries such as Russia, which he regards as a viable alternative to the U.S. in protecting Turkey’s interests in the region.
.
The Turkish leader’s disillusionment with U.S. President Barack Obama predates the tensions caused by the military coup and Turkey’s demand that Washington extradites the exiled Turkish cleric , whom Ankara accuses of orchestrating the failed military coup.
.
The fall-out between Mr Erdogan and Mr Obama dates back to the American president’s failure to follow up on his threat to launch military action against Syrian President Bashar al-Assad if he used chemical weapons against his own people in Syria’s brutal civil war.
.
From the outset of the conflict, Mr Erdogan has been committed to the overthrow of the Assad regime, which is accused of supporting Kurdish separatist groups. It is for this reason that the U.S. has accused Turkey of turning a blind eye to the activities of Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) terrorists on its lengthy border with Syria.
.
Indeed, the big stumbling block preventing Turkey from having better relations with Russia was that Moscow was helping to keep the Assad regime in power through the military intervention by Russian forces that began last year.
.
But in recent months the Kremlin has hinted that keeping Assad in power is not its primary concern. Rather its main objective in Syria is to protect its strategically-important military bases in the country.
.
This has led to suggestions that, in return for building closer relations with Turkey, Moscow might be prepared to do a deal whereby Assad is removed from power and Russia’s military interests in the country are safeguarded.
.
And if that outcome could be achieved, then Turkey and Russia would be able to forge a powerful partnership, one that would pose a serious threat to Western interests in the Middle East and beyond.
.
This is another nail in the coffin of the biblically illiterate Mid East Beast theory, which contrary to Ezekiel’s prophecy, predicts Turkey will lead the Gog Magog attack on Israel. Russia has the hooks in its jaw, and is returning for its prophesied appointment on the mountains of Israel.

Locust From The Book Of Revelation? Bizarre Winged Creature Stirs Controversy

News Image

By Michael Snyder – End of The America Dream Blog

I wasn’t going to write about this.  I was trained as an attorney and I am skeptical by nature, and so I generally don’t like to write about things that I can’t prove.  But in the case of this bizarre winged creature, a couple of factors changed my mind.
.

First of all, we actually have physical evidence which has been scientifically tested.  When it comes to things like this, people are always crying out for some real physical evidence, and now we have some.
.
Of course the existence of evidence does not mean that we can necessarily find answers to all of our questions, but at least we have something to work with.  Secondly, a highly respected researcher named L.A. Marzulli has spent a great deal of time extensively investigating this case.
.
I have personally interacted with L.A. Marzulli, and I have followed his work for years, and so I know how credible he is.
.
Earlier today, I visited L.A. Marzulli’s blog, and I was astounded by what I saw.  There in living colour was a bizarre winged creature that doesn’t bear any resemblance to any animal that science currently knows about.
.
L.A. Marzulli did not personally discover this creature.  Rather, it was originally discovered on the side of a highway by a 13-year-old Mexican boy who didn’t know what it was.  He ultimately turned it over to a well known Mexican investigative journalist named Jaime Maussan.
.
Since that time this creature has been x-rayed, and the x-rays enabled researchers to see that the creature possessed a full skeletal structure.  The x-rays even showed that the creature’s left leg had been broken at one point.  In addition, DNA testing was done, and the DNA did not match any known animal.
.
This amazing discovery is featured in L.A.’s new documentary entitled “Watchers 10”, and a 9 minute clip featuring analysis of this creature has been posted to YouTube right here…
.
.
So the big question that we need to ask is this… What in the world is that thing?
.
At this point, there appear to be three main theories.
.
Many people are calling this winged creature a fairy.  These days a lot of people out there believe in “fairies”, and YouTube is loaded with footage that people have supposedly captured of “fairies” flying around outside at high speed.  Videos are very easily doctored, and the hard evidence that these “fairies” exist has always seemed to be lacking.
.
And this winged creature doesn’t appear to fit the bill anyway.  This winged creature is certainly small, and it certainly does have wings, but it doesn’t really fit the description of what you might expect a “fairy” to look like.  Instead, it looks quite gruesome and evil.  It has pointy ears like a gargoyle, and the body of the creature looks to me like it resembles an insect more than a person.
.
Secondly, some people are calling this winged creature an “alien”.  But of course that label is almost instantly applied to any strange creature that pops up these days.
.
The most common form of “alien” that people encounter are known as “the greys”, but there is only a slight resemblance between this creature and “the greys”.  From what people have reported, “greys” don’t have long pointy ears, they don’t have wings, and they don’t have tails.
.
Of course it is always possible that this creature could be another type of “alien” or demonic entity.  But I don’t know we could conclusively prove that.
.
Thirdly, L.A. Marzulli and others have pointed out that this winged creature that was discovered in Mexico does seem to have some similarities to the “locusts” that are described in Revelation chapter 9.  The following is what Revelation 9:7-11 says in the Modern English Version…
.
7 The shape of the locusts was like horses prepared for battle. On their heads were something like crowns of gold, and their faces were like faces of men. 8 They had hair like the hair of women, and their teeth were like the teeth of lions. 9 They had breastplates like breastplates of iron, and the sound of their wings was like the sound of chariots with many horses running to battle. 10 They had tails like scorpions and stings in their tails. Their power was to hurt men for five months. 11 They had as king over them the angel of the bottomless pit, whose name in Hebrew is Abaddon, and in Greek his name is Apollyon.
.
Does this creature have a face like a man?
.
I think that you could say that.
.
I don’t see any hair, but it is always possible that it could have had hair at one time.  I do see some frightening looking teeth, and it definitely has very prominent wings.
.
The detail that is most intriguing though is the stinger at the end of the tail.  On Marzulli’s website, you can see a closeup of the tail and the stinger.  Obviously the stinger has a function, and at this point we can only speculate because we don’t know enough about the creature.
.
Ultimately, there is always the possibility that this could be some sort of an elaborate hoax, but the scientific examinations that have been done so far have cast doubt on that explanation.  But I am certainly not willing to totally rule that out at this point either.
.
In the end, I don’t know what that creature is.
.
I was highly intrigued when I saw it, and after thinking about it I decided to share this bit of news with all of you.
.
I would encourage you to look into this for yourself and come to your own conclusions.
.
If we are indeed living in the last days as described in the Bible, then our world is going to get very, very weird in the years ahead.
.
The Book of Revelation describes all sorts of bizarre creatures and strange events, and the more I read it the more I am convinced that the period just before Jesus comes back is going to look a whole lot more like an extremely wild science fiction movie than most people would dare to imagine.
.
So yes, a strange winged creature that looks like something from another world may be hard to swallow, but this might just be the tip of the iceberg.
.
By the time it is all said and done, we could very well see things in the years ahead that will completely blow all of our minds.

Palestinians Hailed for Developing ‘Innovative’ Car-Ramming Terror Tactic

News Image

BY LEA SPEYER/ALGEMEINER.COM

As jihadists around the world expressed their joy over Thursday evening’s terror attack in southern France, one ISIS sympathizer hailed Palestinian terrorists for pioneering the use of vehicles to attack civilians, the Middle East Media Research Institute (MEMRI) reported on Friday.
.

“Killing by ramming using civilian cars and trucks is an idea born from the Maqdisi [Palestinian] mind, which has an innovative nature of thinking up jihad tactics,” read a posting on a pro-ISIS forum online. “Yesterday they taught us [about] the explosive vest, and many plans for street fighting, and today they taught us this tactic. May Allah bless Jerusalem and the environs of Jerusalem, and may Allah bless all of the Levant…Oh Aqsa, we are coming.”
.
Vehicular terrorism has become a common method employed by Palestinian Jihadists over the past year. According to Israel’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, since September 2015, 46 car ramming attacks have been carried out against Israelis, both injuring and killing scores of civilians and security personnel.
.
Over the last several years, terror groups — especially ISIS and al-Qaeda — have called on followers to carry out vehicular attacks. In a September 2014 message, ISIS spokesman Abu Mohammed al-Adnani said, “If you cannot [detonate] a bomb or [fire] a bullet, arrange to meet alone with a French or an American infidel and bash his skull in with a rock, slaughter him with a knife, run him over with your car, throw him off a cliff, strangle him, or inject him with poison.”
.
On Thursday evening, Mohamed Lagouaiej Bouhlel, 31, a Frenchman of Tunisian descent, plowed his truck into bystanders who were watching a fireworks display in the French Riviera city of Nice in celebration of Bastille Day. The driver was subsequently shot dead by police after he attempted to open fire on the crowd and security officials.
.
At least 84 people — 10 of them children — were killed and over 200 were injured. As reported by The Algemeiner, at least six members of France’s Jewish community are among the injured and missing.
.
Since the Nice attack, Jihadists have openly been offering praise, claiming the event was part payback against the West as well as a warning of more horrific things to come.
.
According to MEMRI, many terror sympathizers shared gruesome images of the attack online, with captions such as “Nice attack: We warned you”; “It’s beautiful”; “We want Paris before Rome.” Pro-ISIS channel Kawasir Al-Nasher posted a message in English that read: “Oh crusaders, we told you…The next attack is coming soon, we are everywhere, Allah Akbar.”
.
ISIS media operatives of the French-Arabic group Nashir for Design distributed several online posters and images with the caption, “Inshallah we will conquer your lands, you will become Muslims despite yourselves or you will pay the capitation tax in humiliation, otherwise the sword will slice your necks. It is Allah’s promise.”
.
Posting photos of dead children in Syria, the group warned, “This is what your planes do to our children, so accept what is happening to you…It is only the start, we are years and years behind!”

Jihadi Terrorism: You Think It’s Just the Jews? Think Again

News Image

BY GIULIO MEOTTI/GATESTONE INSTITUTE

Last week, at least 84 people were murdered in the French city of Nice by a Tunisian-born Islamist terrorist, with dozens more victims wounded. The attacker drove a 19-ton truck into a large crowd of people celebrating Bastille Day, France’s national holiday, running down men, women and children over a 2km stretch of road and sidewalk.
.

On July 2, nine Italian citizens were butchered by Islamists in the assault at a restaurant in Dhaka, Bangladesh. They were tortured and killed with “very sharp blades” wielded by smiling terrorists who spared the life of those who knew the Quran.
.
For almost a year already, poor Bangladeshis have been experiencing similar shocking massacres. But hose victims were not wealthy non-Muslim foreigners — they were anonymous Muslim bloggers, accused of “blasphemy” and murdered out with “sharp blades” — five victims in 2015 and a law student in 2016, as well as a Hindu priest hacked to death.
.
The same cycle took place in Syria and Iraq, where the beheaders of the Islamic State first targeted many Western journalists, then expelled and killed Christians in Mosul, and then landed in Paris to exterminate Western civilians.
.
Two weeks ago, a 13-year-old Israeli girl was stabbed to death while sleeping in her bed. As in Bangladesh, the Palestinian Arab terrorist used a knife to kill Hallel Yaffa Ariel. That is not a simple act of murder; it is a slaughter that wrongly equates building a home with murdering a child. Italian newspapers even deprived her of identity. Il Corriere della Sera, Italy’s second largest newspaper, wrote: “West Bank: 13-year-old American killed”.
.
When four Israelis were murdered last month in Tel Aviv’s Max Brenner restaurant, the whole foreign media again had “mistaken” headlines. From Le Monde to Libération, the French press used the word “shooting” instead of terrorism. CNN reported about the “terrorists” in quotation marks. La Repubblica, Italy’s largest newspaper, called the Palestinian Arab terrorists “aggressors”.
.
What do these distorted headlines mean? That we in the West naively believe that there are two kinds of terror: “international terror” that targets Westerners in Nice, Paris, Dhaka, Raqqa or Tunisia; and “national” terror, between the Arabs and Israel, in the face of which the Israeli Jews must retreat and surrender. There is also “faceless terror,” as in Orlando, where an Afghan-American Muslim massacred 50 Americans and everybody, as usual in America, refused to name “Islam.”
.
It is the reaction of the appeaser, “one who feeds a crocodile, hoping it will eat him last” according to Winston Churchill. The problem is that whether you are pacifists or warmongers, gays or heterosexuals, atheists or Christians, wealthy or poor, blasphemers or devout, French or Iraqis, jihadi terrorism does not discriminate. Every one of us is a target: Islamist terrorism is genocidal.
.
Despite easy slogans such as “Je Suis Charlie”, very few in the West showed solidarity with the French cartoonists of Charlie Hebdo. Most Europeans thought those journalists were looking for trouble and found it. Or worse, as the Financial Times’ editor said, that they were “stupid”. But after January 7 came November 13. By then, no one still blamed cartoons of Mohammed for the terrorist attacks in Paris.
.
While the Islamic State was enslaving and raping hundreds of Yazidi girls, our intrepid feminists in the West were very busy fighting for an Irish referendum on gay marriage. They clearly did not care about the fate of their Yazidi and Kurdish “sisters”. Those victims were hidden away in the remote and exotic East, as were the murdered secular Muslim bloggers in Bangladesh.
.
It is time to remember the famous poem by Martin Niemöller, a German Christian pastor who was imprisoned in a concentration camp for 7 years by the German Nazi regime:
.
First they came for the Socialists, and I did not speak out (
Because I was not a Socialist.
.
Then they came for the Trade Unionists, and I did not speak out
Because I was not a Trade Unionist.
.
Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out
Because I was not a Jew.
.
Then they came for me and there was no one left to speak out for me.
.
Similarly, when Islamist terrorists target Muslim dissident bloggers, faraway Yazidi women or Israeli girls — and they are enslaved, flogged, raped or murdered — it should concern us in the West. Islamists are just sharpening their knives on them before coming for us.
.
If we do not speak out today, we will be punished for our indolence tomorrow.

Is Martial Law Coming To America?

BY TOM OLAGO

America is on edge. Racial tensions are rising and terrorism fears abound.  Many fear we may be one trigger event away from pushing America into a state of Martial Law.
.

It’s a horrifying boiling-point scenario that no one of goodwill would want, irrespective of race or creed. However some observers and pundits are convinced that there are some very powerful people with influence in America and beyond who would like to see just such an outcome – simply because it would protect either their selfish personal interests or serve a wider and more sinister national or global agenda.
.
One person suspected by some to fall into this category is none other than President Obama. In a recent article for Breitbart.com, Neil Munro alleged that President Obama is harnessing the increasing attacks on police — and the periodic shootings of people by stressed cops — to push his agenda to federalize state and local police forces.
.
“I want to start moving on constructive actions that are actually going to make a difference,” Obama said during his evening press conference in Poland when asked about the Dallas attack.
.
Those actions, he said, would be based on the recommendations of the panel that he picked after the 2014 street riots in Ferguson, Missouri. The panel offered “practical concrete solutions that can reduce – if not eliminate – the problems of racial bias,” Obama said.
.
The panel’s report urges the federal government to federalize police training and practices, via the use of federal lawsuits, grants and threats to cut federal aid.
.
So far, Obama’s deputies have reportedly cajoled and sued more than 30 police jurisdictions to adopt federal rules in a slow-motion creation of a national police system, similar to the slow-motion creation of a federal-run health-sector via Obamacare.
.
Munro maintained that Obama also used the press conference to insulate his federalized police program – and his allies in the Black Live Matter movement — from popular rejection after the five police were murdered by the anti-cop African-American in Dallas.
.
“The danger is that we somehow think the act of a troubled person speaks to some larger political statement across the country – it doesn’t,” Obama insisted.
.
“As painful as this week has been, I firmly believe that America is not as divided as some have suggested. Americans of all races and all backgrounds are rightly outraged by the inexcusable attacks on police … that include protestors, it includes family members who have grave concerns about police conduct, and they’ve said that this is unacceptable, there is no division there,” Obama added.
.
Could he be right, or is he simply in denial? Perhaps the worst possibility is that there is indeed a deliberately contrived and systematic process geared towards provoking chaos and disorder in the United States, and even beyond.
.
Just the make-believe stuff that conspiracy theorists warm up to for some attention- so nothing to lose sleep over, some might conclude. But there are some worrying signs that point to the possibility not being far-fetched or unrealistic.
.
About three months back, Michael Snyder posed the question in his ‘End Of The American Dream’ blog: “Are We Being Psychologically Conditioned To Accept Martial Law In America?” Snyder observed the following trends worthy of note, and asks the reader to consider if it could all be accidental or coincidental rather than orchestrated and manipulated:
 .
” Americans starting to be bombarded  images of troops in the streets
.
” The term “martial law” coming up a lot in movies, news broadcasts and even in television commercials.
.
” In recent years, it seems like the solution to almost every major crisis involves bringing in troops, such as in Ferguson in 2014 – protesters were whipped up into a frenzy and, when the riots began, the police were ordered to stand down and not intervene.  Finally National Guard troops were brought in as the solution to a crisis that had escalated wildly out of control.
.
” Snyder states that this is the exact same pattern that was witnessed during the Baltimore riots in April 2014 and charges that National Guard troops all over the nation have been training for this exact type of scenario.
.
” These days the threat of civil unrest is causing an increasing number of Americans to embrace the idea of troops patrolling our city streets.
.
” National Guard troops all over the nation have reported to be engaged in something called “civil unrest training” that includes gas mask training and practice with shields and batons.
.
Snyder stated that there are so many instances in which “training” seems to eerily correspond with actual events.  That is one of the reasons why so many people are concerned about Jade Helm and all of the other very elaborate military exercises that were being held around the country in 2015.
.
The operation causing rampant suspicions was a new kind of exercise involving elite teams such as the SEALs and Green Berets from four military branches training over several states from mid-July to mid-September 2015.
.
It was planned that about 1,200 special operations personnel would be involved and move covertly among the public. Military equipment would be used to travel between seven Southwestern states from Texas to California.
.
So what exactly would the ‘powers that be’ stand to gain from triggering race riots and calling in the National Guard? Opinions abound. Some believe that there is a covert plot to extend Obama’s presidency term over the mandatory two-term limit, and a sustained national crisis triggered before the November election would provide the perfect excuse for that.
.
Yet others see a New World Order plan to trigger a financial crash to usher in a one world government and currency, starting with the United States and the death of the dollar.
.
This would trigger chaos and anarchy as cash becomes useless, crime spirals out of control and desperate citizens demand food, water, and other essentials. Enter the National Guard fully conditioned by Jade Helm and perhaps other secretive preparations.
.
Some believe that some natural disaster such as a meteorite or other space debris hurtling towards the earth unstoppably – or some major solar flare – is soon going to create unbearable conditions that will require massive crowd and security controls.
.
The speculation is endless but whatever the case, tense race relations may have nothing to do with it at all just a useful trigger; the means to justify a desired end.
.
Given the Obama doctrine, ‘never let a crisis go to waste’, is it not within the realm of possibility that such crises might be ‘created’ by sinister design?
.
If any such plans are actually in the works, there are some dark and dangerous days ahead for America. Martial law could soon make “the land of the free, the home of the brave” one giant prison and a hell on earth indefinitely.
